Note: Many of these rules are simply common sense. If you already know what I mean about something, don't force yourself to read the whole description. They're just there to help you. Not to bore you to death.
Be respectful
I understand that some of us don't get along and that's fine, but we don't need to be jerks about it, either. If you don't like someone here (for reasons beyond their character not getting along with yours), then the best thing to do is to just avoid talking to them OOC. Don't make others feel threatened, don't harass anyone, and don't talk to people like you're the one in charge. Just message me or any other staff members if you have a problem with someone, and we'll try and settle the issue as best as we can. (God... I sound like a school counselor.)
No grudges
OK, please, don't hate someone just because your character and their character are enemies. Basically, all things that happen In Character should stay In Character. Also, don't chase down someone's character just because you had a fight with them Out Of Character.
Impostors
Don't pretend to be an Admin if you are not, I mean it. Don't go around this site acting like the boss of everyone else, don't accept people's characters, don't act like you can punish other people. If you have a problem with the way someone is doing something, send one of the admins a message and we'll deal with it. If you feel your character isn't being accepted fast enough, don't go asking non-admin to accept you. We're all human, just let us know that you're waiting to be accepted and we'll take care of it for you.
Advertising
No advertising on boards other than the advertising board please. Especially don't do it in the chat box. I think it brings down the quality of the forum and takes away from what we're here to do; to have fun and RP.
In Character Rules
[/b][/u]Activity
Get on the site often. But, when I say "be active," I don't mean get on and look around, then get back off, I mean get on and post something. I will send messages to those that are in danger of being deleted due to inactivity. If you do not sign on, or do not post for 2 months without giving us some sort of excuse, I will delete you.
Also, If you hold an important rank (i.e. teacher, headmaster/mistress, ministry member, etc.), I will remove this rank if you go inactive without warning and remain this way for two weeks.
ZOMG - LOL - And other idiocy
No IMese. IMese is the language that the online culture has developed. Don't use it. It's annoying. There is no other way to describe it. NO ONE wants to come to a RP site and find boards filled with: "Lawlz she totally h8s yur gutz!"
Also, I don't want to see any: *she walked along the beach, looked up and said* Hey guys *she ran towards her friends*
Asterisks (the *) used to show action or anything else are unnecessary. In fact, they bother me quite a bit. They are distracting, and I will consider them to be a form of IMese.
Please, please try and make good intelligent posts. We are civilized people completely capable of making nice descriptive posts, which leads me to the next rule.
Mirror Posting
I'd like to keep this site at a semi-advanced quality level. Unlike some people, I do not believe that the length of the post makes it good or bad. I only believe that the quality of it is what matters. I find that some sites that call themselves 'advanced' are extremely boring to RP on, because the posts just go on forever. But, I also realize that there is no way to make a good-quality post in two sentences. I'd like to keep all posts here at a minimum of two paragraphs. At the very least, please spit out five sentences if you can't think of anything. Also, if you feel that you have nothing to say, take a break and save the post for the next time you get on. There is nothing wrong with taking a break.
Mirror posting, for those that do not know, is when you answer the person you are RPing with with the same amount of text they gave you. There is nothing worse then creating a post you took a long time and effort to create, and have it answered with a few sloppy sentences from your partner. If someone gives you three paragraphs, try and give them the same amount.
Multiple RP's
You may be in up to three different places with each character, not including the past and randomness boards which are unlimited. If you involve yourself in a major fight or a plotline of any kind, you are restricted to rping only in that area with the involved character until the major fight or plotline is finished.
Point of View
Please post everything in 3rd person.
Okay, this is more of a request than an actual rule. It is much easier to read. What I mean by 3rd person is that you do something like this: Hara looked up and saw that the sky was finally clear. It would be a good day today.
Stay away from 1st person: I looked up and saw that the sky was finally clear. It would be a good day today.
Right-of-Way
When you are posting with more than one other person, please try and develop a sort of posting order. This way everyone gets to RP the same amount as everyone else. This isn't hard to do.
Obviously, if there are only two in a thread, there is a set posting order. Do not double-post.
Character Originality + Imperfection = Greatness
DO NOT make your character perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect person. Ever. It is a gross thing to do, and all the perfect people just bring the quality of the site down. Things are much more interesting when people have actual flaws and weaknesses. Also, perfect characters get boring after a while and will often get little attention from your peers. The imperfect are the ones who gain popularity.
Multiple Characters
You may have up to a maximum of four characters on one account. However, if you really feel the need to put another character on another account for the sake of neatness, go ahead. But that does not mean you get more than four characters.

Swearing and Sex
Swearing is fine with me, as long as it is kept low key. Just don't fill your whole post with it, and it will be acceptable.
Sex. Rape, sex, or anything will not be tolerated.
God-Moding(Modding)/Powerplaying
There are different forms of these two forms of RPing; it is not only related to fighting.
-> Third Eye God-Moding: You shouldn't know anything about a stranger. Even if you read their character's information, you still can't sit around acting like your character knows things about them. Strangers are strangers. If you come from the same division, it is alright if you know each other's names, but let's leave it at that before things get carried away.
If you have decided with another person to have had history with their character, then it is alright to act as though you already know one another. Soul Society after all wouldn't be filled with complete strangers. But, both members have to agree on a decision like that.
-> Cheat Code God-Moding: Never ever do it. Ever. This is the biggest In Character peeve for me. You can't control what happens to another person's character. You can't hit them and make them bleed, you can't make them say things, you can't make them move. I don't care what the circumstances are. Don't do it.
On the flip side, don't make your character invulnerable to everything. It is equally annoying as having someone else control what happens to your character. You can't dodge every attack. You're not Chuck Norris.
If you find ANYONE God-moding or Powerplaying, message me or another admin right away. We will deal with it in any way we see fit.
Death
NEVER KILL ANOTHER PERSON'S CHARACTER WITHOUT THEIR PERMISSION. EVER. IF YOU DO THAT, WE'LL SICK JAE ON YOU AND YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED.
The staff have the right to edit or add to these rules at any time they please, so keep checking every once in a while to see what's new.[/size][/ul]
